FOUR visionary women from different countries have come together to establish the Network for Entrepreneur Women Associations in ASEAN-Pacific-India (NEW-API), an alliance dedicated to empowering women-led organizations in entrepreneurship across the region.
Our Mission
To create a connected platform for women’s business organizations across the ASEAN-Pacific-India region, enabling them to collaborate, share expertise and access new markets. We aim to empower women entrepreneurs by fostering networks, promoting knowledge exchange and facilitating access to resources necessary for business growth and sustainability.
The Context
The ASEAN-Pacific-India region is home to a vibrant community of women entrepreneurs who drive innovation, create jobs and contribute significantly to economic growth. However, these women often face unique challenges when it comes to market access, funding, digitalization, capacity-building, resource-sharing, finding mentors, business growth, networking and collaboration.
We believe that the Network for Entrepreneur Women Associations in ASEAN-Pacific-India (NEW-API), a regional alliance that aims to foster connectivity, collaboration and growth for women entrepreneurial organisations, councils and associations is a much needed platform for today.
This transformative initiative was founded by:
The four founders embarked on this groundbreaking partnership after participating in the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) programme from October 6 to 19, 2024, in the United States. The exchange programme, sponsored by the United States Department of State, provided the platform to foster collaboration and innovation, ultimately leading to the creation of NEW-API on 18 October 2024.
Each founder has extensive experience and expertise in business and entrepreneurship matters related to MSME (Micro and Small Medium Enterprises).
Our Objectives

Strengthen networks among women entrepreneurs’ organizations in India, ASEAN, and the Pacific regions to build strategic partnerships.

Enable women-owned businesses to explore regional and global markets through collaboration and resource sharing.

Share best practices, success stories and innovative strategies to help women entrepreneurs overcome challenges and grow their businesses based on their needs.

Provide platforms for women entrepreneurs to connect with industry experts, policy-makers, government officials, mentors and business leaders.

Encourage cross-border initiatives that address regional issues such as trade facilitation, sustainable development and gender equality.

The NEW-API will work with established women’s organizations, business associations and industry bodies in these regions:
- ASEAN member states: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam
- Pacific countries who are members of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIFS) - Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
